Dear Guest,
As the school year winds down, we find ourselves stepping out of the familiar rhythms of early mornings, busy days, and full calendars. Whether we are directly impacted by the holidays or not…it seems to impact on all of us as things pause and change.
In that pause lies opportunity, a chance to reflect on the year that’s passed, to celebrate growth and resilience, and to look ahead with fresh eyes and renewed energy. How have you grown? What have you learnt? Where is God leading you now?
As a team we will be having a pause on running trainings and learning, so we can plan and prepare for the coming year…if there’s anything you would like to see happening, let us know!
Our final session is on Wednesday and is aptly thinking about faith and schools…a great opportunity with time to reflect and consider how you connect with schools when they restart next year.
Best wishes,
The Equip Hub Team

Rev Colleen Shekerie is Chaplain at Birmingham Cathedral, as well as a psychotherapist, artist, and passionate peacebuilder. Emma Crick de Boom, Reconciliation Enabler for West Midlands and Coventry Diocese, sat down with Colleen to talk about how her life weaves together grief, faith, healing, and a deep curiosity about people.
The conversation took them through city streets and sacred spaces, into wounds and wonder – and left them with renewed hope about being reconcilers in our hurting and divided world.

Pastoral visits usually take place when someone is emotionally or physically vulnerable. This can make visits feel daunting for everyone involved. This session will focus on what we can do to help put people at ease before and during visits so that they feel supported, heard and safe. This will include practical things we can do (and not do), how to listen well and how to approach spiritual topics or prayer.
This session will be led by Anna Naish.
Wednesday 17th September, 10am-12pm, St Paul’s Church, Foleshill.

At the heart of Christian worship lies the understanding that we are reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. Every time we say a confession and receive absolution we are reaffirming this understanding. There will be occasions, though, when we want to highlight reconciliation in worship in particular ways. This might be to mark a national occasion – Windrush Day, or Refugee Week, or the anniversary of the Coventry Blitz – or to reflect on, and bring some healing to, a local dispute or tragedy.
In this workshop, we’ll look at existing resources for the liturgy of reconciliation and explore what will make reconciliation liturgy we craft particularly rich and resonant
This session will be led by Revd Nitano Muller (Canon for Worship and Welcome).
Tuesday 23rd September 2025, 7pm-9pm, All Saints Church, Bedworth
