Property Manager Peter Fowles is moving on Our current Property Manager, Peter Fowles, is leaving the Diocese at the Beginning of March after serving in this role for 2 and a half years. Peter writes: “You have without doubt been the best group of people I have had the pleasure of working with and it is with some sadness that I am moving on. God bought me here to use my specific experience to transition the Clergy housing management from Leicester to Coventry and over recent weeks it has become clear to me that He wants to take me on to something new – although I have yet to find out what this is. I am a changed person from 2.5 years at the Diocese: singing worship songs and praying at work, stopping for cake on a weekly basis and working with such Godly people is an eye opening and strengthening experience for someone like me who has only ever worked in commercial businesses. News Coventry Cathedral vigil for Ukraine - 24 February On the 24th February, Coventry Cathedral will be joining with the Coventry Ukrainian Community to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine. From 6pm there will be a procession from the Lower Precinct (gathering at 5.45pm) and moving to the Coventry Cathedral Ruins for a candlelit vigil at 6.30pm. The service at the Ruins will be led by the Very Rev David Senyk & Fr Taras Dovbeniuk from the Ukrainian Church and by Coventry Cathedral. All are warmly invited to attend and remember those who have tragically lost their lives and pray for peace. Click here to find out more. The Children’s Society’s #LookCloser The Children’s Society’s #LookCloser campaign encourages people to become aware of the signs of a young person being exploited, and to understand how to raise their concerns. This campaign runs all year through, however w/c Monday 27th February they have planned a focus week where they hope the awareness levels, press coverage, and general noise around child exploitation will be heightened. For more information, click here.  Urban Hope announcement URBAN HOPE has fulfilled a demanding and creative mission reaching children and adults who often face complex challenges since April 2011. In agreement with all concerned, a recommendation was made to conclude the BMO. We thank God for all who led Urban Hope and the difference it has made to many of those living in the inner city. A final Sunday gathering for Urban Hope will take place March 5th at 11.30am. A celebration service will be arranged later this spring. Volunteers needed to help process Answered Prayers for Eternal Wall Birmingham, Coventry or Leicester based volunteers needed for up to 2.5 days a week to read and help process the extraordinary answered prayers that Eternal Wall receives each day. Be part of the answered prayer review process, reading answered prayers from across the globe. Be uplifted while you volunteer and help to equip Eternal Wall to make hope visible to the generations. Training will be provided. For security purposes this role can only be undertaken at the head office at Nettle Hill Conference Centre in Ansty, Coventry. Associate Minister - Bedworth Mission Hub Church in the Diocese of Coventry The Diocese of Coventry is recruiting a new Associate Minister, fully funded at incumbent level with housing, for an initial period of five years. This is part of an exciting and adventurous mission strategy to see healthy churches propagate, plant, or graft 150 new worshipping communities over the next ten years. Bedworth is a town located 5 miles north of Coventry. The town has a population of 32000 and the parish covers the town. There are two churches in the parish. The larger church in the town centre is All Saints, and a smaller church, St. Andrew’s. All Saint’s is a lively growing church with a variety of ages meeting across three Sunday congregations. St. Andrew’s is a small church mainly comprising of an elderly congregation with a range of new projects underway to enable it to grow and become part of the community again. Non-Executive Member of Chapter - Coventry Cathedral The Chapter is the equivalent of a Board of Trustees for the Cathedral. Once the Cathedral has become a registered charity, then the Chapter will be the Board of Trustees. It is the administrative body of the Cathedral and has the ultimate responsibility for directing and overseeing its affairs. Helping Hands serves the homeless and vulnerably housed in the Leamington Spa/Warwick area. They are looking for someone who is approachable, compassionate and able to organise crafting activities; helping to develop their creative approach with their female clients, many of whom may have experienced trauma or addiction. They sing a mix of sacred and secular music, some in unison but others in two and four-part harmonies. They meet every Monday night from 6.30pm to 7.30pm in term times (roughly ten times per term) and perform at a variety of community and church events. Their conductor and accompanist are retiring in July, so they are looking for a new leader and accompanist from September. A payment is offered for each practice. Good Neighbours Local Area Coordinator Good Neighbours is a HOPE Coventry project which supports isolated older people. They’re recruiting a local coordinator to train volunteers to befriend and assist older people, and to help friendships between older people and volunteers grow. Sports Chaplain for Coventry United Women This is a voluntary position for a lay or ordained person with a pastoral heart and an interest in sport. It will require attendance at one training session per week and also at the home games every other Sunday. Training and support will be provided by Sports Chaplaincy UK. The team trains and plays their matches at the Butts Arena in Coventry at the following times: Tuesdays and Wednesdays 3-6pm (5-6pm in the gym) Friday 6-8pm Matches are on Sundays at 2pm (although the players will be there from 12pm).
