Graeme Pringle retires from Director of Comms role Graeme Pringle will be retiring as Director Communications and Projects at the end of January. Graeme has served the Diocese of Coventry in this key role for 11 years. Graeme said: “It has been a great privilege to serve the Diocese of Coventry in my communications role during the past 11 years.  I’ve worked with some fantastic colleagues, and am very grateful for their support, friendship and commitment.  It has also been a pleasure to work with ministers and church officers throughout the whole diocese”. Leamington based Christian charity supports mental health of girls Last autumn a major study found that over half of teenage girls are suffering from poor mental health. In comparison, the same study found a third of boys to have some level of mental health problem. The study found a stark difference in the mental health of girls and boys, with girls twice as likely to attempt suicide. Overall, 44 per cent of teenagers surveyed were above the threshold for “probable mental ill health”, up from 35 per cent in 2017 and 23 per cent in 2007. Read more

Diocesan News Growing Faith Connections Project Voices. Relationships. Rhythms. Purpose. Rev Gareth Irvine, Vicar at St Laurence’s Foleshill, has been working with a national project team and the Growing Faith Foundation to discover emerging best practice in growing faith amongst children across the interwoven spaces of churches, households and schools. The team have published their findings on the website growingfaithconnections.org, which includes a shorter summary and a longer executive report, discussion postcards, context recommendations and 3 story films (including one filmed in Coventry). Archbishop Angaelos of London and Bishop Christopher of Coventry A conversation across the tradition between two distinguished church leaders in known for their work in peace and reconciliation. Together - Gathering of the People of God Young people aged 18 to 35 from different European countries and from all Christian traditions are invited to come to Rome from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon (29th September – 1st October 2023) for a weekend of sharing. They will be hosted by the parishes and communities of Rome and stay with local people. At the heart of this weekend of sharing will be an ecumenical prayer vigil in Rome on 30 September 2023, in the presence of Pope Francis and representatives of various churches. Open to all the People of God, this prayer together will include listening to the Word of God, praise and intercession, Taizé songs and silence – a strong sign of fellowship, unity and peace. Associate Minister - Bedworth Mission Hub Church in the Diocese of Coventry The Diocese of Coventry is recruiting a new Associate Minister, fully funded at incumbent level with housing, for an initial period of five years. This is part of an exciting and adventurous mission strategy to see healthy churches propagate, plant, or graft 150 new worshipping communities over the next ten years. Bedworth is a town located 5 miles north of Coventry. The town has a population of 32000 and the parish covers the town. There are two churches in the parish. The larger church in the town centre is All Saints, and a smaller church, St. Andrew’s. All Saint’s is a lively growing church with a variety of ages meeting across three Sunday congregations. St. Andrew’s is a small church mainly comprising of an elderly congregation with a range of new projects underway to enable it to grow and become part of the community again. Our vision is that over the next 10 years every person in Bedworth has the opportunity to have the good news of Jesus presented & demonstrated to them.
