The Book of Revelation

What is it?

This is an interactive course designed for you to complete independently online – you can dip in and out of the course whenever you like, at your own convenience and you can take as much time as you like to do the course.

Do you want to discover one of the least understood books in the Bible? Do you want to see Coventry Cathedral in a new way? Come and learn about history, theology, discipleship and mission in the Book of Revelation and gain powerful insights into God’s plan for the world through his message to us.

The learning objectives of this course are:

– To understand the genre of Revelation and the way it functions in the Bible
– To explore how the historical and social background influences the writing and how it can speak to us in our context today
– To understand the bigger picture of God’s plan for the world. What was, is and is to come through his message to us.

Course information

This course is split into five sessions which each take around two hours to complete. The sessions are:

Session 1 – Introduction to the Book of Revelation
Session 2 – The Seven Messages
Session 3 – Seals, Trumpets and Bowls
Session 4 – The Great Whore and the Beasts
Session 5 – Heaven and Faithful Witness
