What is the Pathway?
We all have relationships in this life and there is a real capacity to love. But, in reality, relationships can also become complicated or difficult. We see this in our own lives, other peoples’ lives and across our communities.
It isn’t always easy to navigate ourselves, and support others, in those complex relationships. The Reconciliation Pathway aims to equip Christians for living and ministering amidst differences, disagreement and facing conflict in general. It will help you reflect on yourself and your engagement with other people, give you tools to listen to and support others, and an understanding of how we can nurture a culture of reconciliation in our church and community.
Our other Pathways focus on existing, specific ministry activities; this Pathway will enable people to deepen existing ministries, and open up new opportunities for those with a calling to nurture reconciliation. This Pathway is designed both, for people with a specific calling to champion reconciliation and for people who wish to infuse their existing ministry with the charism of reconciliation and to equip people to champion reconciliation within their local churches, enabling their churches to be agents of reconciliation in their local communities.
This Pathway covers a variety of subjects from a theology of reconciliation to practical ways we can respond to difference, tension and disagreement in everyday life. It will not equip you to be a trained mediator or counsellor.
Please note that all required training for Pathways participants are also open to anyone as individual session for those interested in a specific topic.
What is involved?
Completing the Pathway includes:
- The learning, training and formation below.
- Practical experience organised by the participant and their incumbent – opportunities to explore and grow in this ministry.
It takes a minimum of one year to complete, but you can join at any point in the year and take longer if you would like. Sessions are spread across the year to give you time to reflect and embed the skills and learning you take away from them.

More information…
Each of the learning courses and training events are open to anyone to book. You might book as a taster, invite a team or want to refresh your ministry. You can find them all on the Equip hub.
To join this Pathway your vicar (or Churchwarden if you are in vacancy) will need to email Pathways@Coventry.Anglican.org with a short recommendation. At this point we will register you onto the Pathway and send you details for the formation group.
