What is it?
St Paul is a key figure in Christianity. Born and bought up a Jew in the Roman Empire diaspora, he was educated as a Pharisee in the highest level of Jewish learning. After turning around from suppressing the message of Jesus to promoting it, Paul became the architect of European Christianity.
In this Zoom course, Rob Harrison explores what we know of Paul’s life, and what we can infer about his character and motivation, before taking a fresh look at his letters.
Rob, who has written a fictionalised novel about Paul, writes, “A lot of Christians feel a certain discomfort about St Paul, and find his letters hard to understand.
