Course information

From the Bronze Age to the Iron Age, from Mesopotamia to Africa, the story of the Old Testament charts the rise and fall of empires and civilisations for over a thousand years. If you don’t imagine Abraham with a braided beard and chunky gold earrings, Moses wearing a wig and a linen kilt, or Goliath with feathers in his helmet, this course is for you.

This Zoom course will explore the culture, politics and geography behind the stories of the Old Testament, showing how the stories of the Bible fit in with the history and culture of the ancient Middle East.
