Retirement of Ruth Marlow is announced Bishop Christopher has announced that Ruth Marlow will be retiring as Diocesan Secretary at the end of January.  Ruth has served the Diocese of Coventry in this key role for over five years. Bishop Christopher said: “I am hugely grateful to Ruth for joining our work and service in the Diocese of Coventry.  Ruth has brought to us great skills and professionalism, enabling us to benefit from her long and distinguished career in public service.  I’ve very much enjoyed working with Ruth and have learnt a lot from her, especially in the areas of governance, strategic planning and accountability and many more besides.  I’ve greatly appreciated Ruth’s integrity and, also the way she helped to steer the diocese through the worst of the COVID months. With people right across the diocese I pray for a happy retirement for Ruth and the chance to enjoy more of her wonderful family.” Read more

£1.25 million grant for a younger and more diverse church Lunch clubs, a community choir and a church that grew out of a football team for refugees are among a number of different projects to receive funding as part of a drive by the Church of England to spread the Christian message to younger and more diverse groups. The Diocese of Coventry is to receive £1.25 million in Strategic Development Funding (SDF) for outreach work in parishes serving estates and suburban areas in the city of Coventry and the Warwickshire town of Bedworth. The projects are part of a plan to create 150 new worshipping communities in the diocese by 2030, reaching children and young people, families, elderly people and other groups such as homeless people and refugees and asylum seekers. The funding will support activities such as a community choir, holiday and lunch clubs, pastoral support and Christian enquiry courses. In Bedworth, new worshipping communities will meet in venues including a working men’s club and a school. Read more

We want to affirm, inspire and equip you as you join in with what God is doing there. Whatever your job, senior or junior, part time or full time, paid or voluntary, desk, factory or field, we would love you to join us. Diocesan Vacancies Community Outreach and Link Worker Part time 0.6 FTE – £20,589-£28,787 pro rata, subject to professional qualifications and experience. St Michael’s Budbrooke is recruiting for a Community Outreach and Link Worker  as part of a growing partnership with Budbrooke Medical Centre.  Initially funded for 18months, with potential to extend, this new role is to focus on well-being in its fullest sense, by linking community services together to provide a cohesive approach to meeting local need, and, where appropriate, bringing the particular pastoral and Spiritual care that the church can offer.
