Dear Guest,
What would deepen your understanding of your faith and help you grow in your ministry?
At Equip Hub, our aim is to support and resource you in your service of God and his people. The main way we do that is in offering learning courses and training events that focus particular aspects of faith learning and practical ministry.
What would help you?
Please take a moment to share your thoughts on that by answering two simple questions.
What specific aspect of learning would you love to engage with?
What practical training would enhance your service of God and his people?
You can submit your thoughts by clicking here.
We look forward to reading your suggestions. We can’t promise to meet everyone’s needs, but we will certainly take note of all the needs expressed.
Best wishes,
The Equip Hub Team

Course Fees
At Equip Hub, we charge a standard fee of £5 per session for lay training and learning. This income makes a small but helpful contribution towards the overall cost of the courses we offer. However, we never want people to feel excluded from Equip Hub because they can’t afford it.
If the only reason that you decide not to take part in something that would resource your faith and ministry is the cost, please contact Rob.Harrison@Coventry.Anglican.org (confidentially) and we will arrange for you to register for free.

Preaching is about more than just the words that we say.
This session will offer good practice in using screens, and explore a variety of ways to visually engage a congregation that will help make preaching more effective. We will also consider the importance of body language in preaching.
This session will be led by Rob Harrison.
Thursday 15th October, 7pm – 9pm at St Oswald’s Church, Rugby
Whether you’re beginning a new ministry or looking to rebuild what’s already there, this practical and encouraging session will help you take the next steps with confidence. Together we’ll explore the current landscape of children’s and youth ministry, share ideas that are working, consider volunteers, safeguarding and funding, and help you identify the “next right thing” for your church. Come away with practical tools, fresh inspiration, and the encouragement of connecting with others on the same journey.
This session will be led by Tom Cook, Aggy Palairet, Andy March, Tim Broadbent, Abby Rhodes and Katie Cross, sharing insights from the national church training programme they attended together.
Wednesday 21st October, 2pm-4pm, St Mark’s Church, Leamington
What is worship? And what forms of worship might be most appropriate in our own culture and context? These are important questions for the future of the Christian church.
Through the story of the Bible people worshiped God in a variety of ways, from slaughtering animals and sprinkling their blood on one another, to singing and reciting ancient texts.
Over five zoom sessions, Rob Harrison will explore how worship was expressed in different phases of the Bible’s story, and consider the significance of those practices within their own cultural framework.
Starting Wednesday 4th November, 7:30pm – 9pm on Zoom.

Pastoral visits usually take place when someone is emotionally or physically vulnerable. This can make visits feel daunting for everyone involved. This session will focus on what we can do to help put people at ease before and during visits so that they feel supported, heard and safe. This will include practical things we can do (and not do), how to listen well and how to approach spiritual topics or prayer.
This session is aimed at people who are exploring or engaged in a pastoral visiting ministry or a ministry where you have pastoral responsibilities. These might be formal or informal roles. It may also be helpful to those who find themselves supporting other people to consider how you do that well.
This session will be led by Anna Naish and Lou Peet. Wednesday 21st October, 7-9pm, Holy Trinity Parish Centre, Stratford-upon-Avon

Mark’s Gospel is a dynamic, fast-moving account of the public ministry of Jesus. The urgency of the storytelling can leave you breathless as you move from encounter to encounter, and ultimately to the drama of the last week in Jerusalem.
In this five-week zoom course, Rev. Tom Thomas will examine Mark’s storytelling, picking up on his key interests and asking how his story still impacts life and faith today.
Starting Tuesday 3rd November, 7:30pm – 9pm on Zoom

Creating a worship space for everyone is no easy task, but it’s worth trying! Corporate worship is about everyone being welcomed and everyone being able to participate.
This session will be sharing ideas about how we can better involve a range on ages within the same worship. We will cover key elements: • For creating a service that is specifically designed to be intergenerational. • For adapting current worship to be more age inclusive. • Big ideas and gentle shifts.
This session will be led by Anna Naish.
Monday 23rd November, 7pm – 9pm, St Paul’s Church, Leamington Spa

Below our principles, priorities and preferences lies a layer of assumptions and expectations that influence our actions without us being aware it is happening. It is a natural part of being human.
We will explore why we all make assumptions and how our unconscious biases affect our actions. We will consider how we can become more conscious of our personal collection of biases and how we can be more aware of other people’s unconsidered assumptions.
The aim of this session is to get us thinking and reflecting on ourselves, our churches and the communities we are a part of.
This session will be led by Anna Naish and Neil Masih.
Wednesday 25th November, 7pm – 9:30pm at St James the Great, Snitterfield

How does it feel when someone checks their watch as you are talking…especially if you are sharing something personal? Or perhaps when they start talking before you finished your sentence…when you are trying to explain something?
It is so easy to be distracted both in a quick chat and in a deep conversation. This session focusses on how we can choose to be active and present in a conversation so people know the value we place on them.
This session is designed for anyone; you may have a specific ministry or role that requires listening (leadership, pastoral, part of a team etc) or you may attend with your friends, family, colleagues and other relationships in mind.
This session will be led by Anna Naish and Lou Peet.
Wednesday 2nd December, 7-9pm, Holy Trinity Parish Centre, Stratford-upon-Avon
