What is it?
At May’s Learning Together Day, we learnt about trauma and relationship-based practice. Survivors of abuse often struggle with chronic shame resulting from the traumatic experience perpetrated against them. In recent years Christian theologians and Ministers have begun to work with survivors of abuse pastorally and theologically in the search for justice, hope and healing.
In this session, Linda Fletcher, Vicar of St Catherine’s, Stoke Aldermoor will introduce some headlines of what scripture has to say about shame. Linda will also explore a Case Study in which survivors moved from feeling worthy “rarely” to “frequently” through their journey of exploring scripture together and becoming a new Christian Community within their parish church.
