What is it?
How does it feel when someone checks their watch as you are talking…especially if you are sharing something personal? Or perhaps when they start talking before you finished your sentence…when you are trying to explain something?
It is so easy to be distracted both in a quick chat and in a deep conversation. This session focusses on how we can choose to be active and present in a conversation so people know the value we place on them.
This session is designed for anyone; you may have a specific ministry or role that requires listening (leadership, pastoral, part of a team etc) or you may attend with your friends, family, colleagues and other relationships in mind.
This training session will take place on the same day as ‘Difficult Conversations’; Active listening will be in the morning and Difficult conversations will be in the afternoon– you can register for one or both of sessions.
This session will be led by Anna Naish.
This is a core training session for those on the Pastoral and Bereavement Pathways. For more details click here.

Date: Saturday 15th November 2025
Time: 10am-12pm
Venue: St Paul’s Church, Foleshill Road, Coventry, CV6 5AJ
Car Sharing
We really encourage car sharing both for the environment and because we are aware not everyone has easy access to a car or public transport. There are a couple of questions in the booking form for those that would like to offer and/or receive lifts so we can connect people who are close to one another. Please note it asks for the first 3 or 4 letters of your postcode (e.g. CV6, CV12) so we can put you in touch with relevant people.
