What is it?
Despite the menopause affecting 50% of the population, it is often considered a taboo subject, with many being nervous to talk about it. The menopause can have a huge impact on women’s lives and work for a number of years. Women may quit their jobs because of their menopause experience, and many others suffer in silence because they feel it is not a subject to be broached.
This session aims to educate and inform about the challenges and myths around the menopause, and investigate best practice on how to support others, and help them continue effectively in their roles.Â
Why not come along and join in with the Menopause and the Workplace session, which provides an opportunity to think about how we might experience and support the menopause in ourselves and others. We want to think creatively about how our worshipping committees can be places of support and nurture through this season of life. This session is intended to offer information, as well as practical help, to provide a supportive environment for those experiencing menopausal symptoms.
The session will be led by Dr. Hannah Packman and Dr. Rachel Tindale, both GP’s and Menopause Champions living and working in the diocese.
