What is it?
When we meet with others we often navigating our own boundaries and theirs. We want the other person to feel loved, listened to and comfortable and we want to feel the same. Sometimes that is easy but not always (and it can be made more complex if we are meeting people with a specific role such as pastoral visitor, lay leader etc).
This session will explore key areas such as:
• Physical boundaries, so everyone feels safe and comfortable.
• Energy and time, so that we can serve God and have space to rest and rest in him.
• Finances and gifts, so we don’t give or receive more than we should.
• Faith conversations, Bible verses and prayer, how, when and when not to offer them.
• Saying no, whatever our boundaries we need to feel confident saying no.
This session will be led by Anna Naish and Lou Peet.
Who is it for?
This session is designed for anyone; you might have a specific role where boundaries are particularly important in church (pastoral, Churchwarden, Reader, leadership etc), you might have a role at work or in your community where boundaries are helpful or you may want to think more generally about the boundaries you have in place.
This is a core training session for those on the Pastoral Pathway. For more details click here.
Event information
Date: Monday 10th February 2025
Time: 7pm – 9pm
Venue: St Georges Church, St Johns Avenue, Rugby, CV22 5HR
Car sharing
We really encourage car sharing both for the environment and because we are aware not everyone has easy access to a car or public transport. There are a couple of questions in the booking form for those that would like to offer and/or receive lifts so we can connect people who are close to one another. Please note it asks for the first 3 or 4 letters of your postcode (e.g. CV6, CV12) so we can put you in touch with relevant people.
