This course is a pilot that includes starting and finishing the course together on Zoom but using ‘online-anytime’ sessions in between. The hope is that you can do the learning and personal reflection at a time that suits you and then come together to hear and learn from one another.
What is it?
Difference explores what it means to follow Jesus in the face of difference, disagreement, conflict and see transformation through everyday encounters. For a short trailer, click here.
This course focuses on three habits: Be Curious; Be Present; and Reimagine. In the sessions it does this by reflecting on biblical stories, a recent story and creating space to include how our own story and experiences shape our thinking. These habits can have an impact on our everyday lives and relationships. Affect how we relate to people and the life of the communities that we’re part off.
The content of the sessions is non-issue based because the skills and practices within it are relevant for any difference. It is brilliant in itself, but can also be a good stepping stone to get you thinking about particular differences your faced with in your context. The habits framework set foundations for introducing ways of navigating them, embedding them before engaging directly on a specific issue.
We are running this course with the majority of the sessions on Zoom but we are also including an online resource to complete some (or all of one) session in advance so we can focus our time what that that might mean for us in our context.
This course will be facilitated by Emma Crick-de-Boom and Anna Naish.
